We have all heard of the idea of “cats have nine lives” or “cats always land on their feet” but neither is exactly true. Cats have a “righting reflex” that invokes their eyes and the balance organs in their inner ears – this reflex lets them know where they are in space and helps them to land on their feet (most of time) and survive falls.
