Diagnostics

Imaging saves lives, eliminates guesswork and reduces stress on your pet.

York Veterinary Hospital has onsite radiology and ultrasound as diagnostic tools to aid us in providing care for your pet. An ultrasound gives us a 2-dimensional “picture” of your pet’s organs. This is much more accurate than simply palpating the body.

X-ray is a great diagnostic tool used to image soft-tissue structures, the internal organs, and bones. When necessary, both digital radiographs (X-rays) and ultrasound of your pet can be the best evaluation of your pet’s problem. Digital X-rays show the size, shape and position of the organs and the ultrasound allows us to see the internal structure of the organs. Ultrasound is non-invasive and well-tolerated by most pets.

We only recommend x-rays when necessary.

If we have a concern during an exam, our in-house laboratory can provide valuable information about your pet’s condition. Having this equipment in-house reduces the stress of waiting for you and your pet.
