Dr. Peiman Hojjati – Passionate, Experienced, and Dedicated to Pet Care
Dr. Peiman Hojjati’s journey in veterinary medicine began at a young age while shadowing his uncle, a rural veterinarian. Watching his uncle assist in birthing calves and caring for a variety of animals, he developed a deep passion for animal welfare—one that would shape the foundation of York Veterinary Hospital.
Dr. Hojjati has always prioritized the well-being of animals, going above and beyond traditional veterinary care. Before moving to Canada, he served as a veterinarian at Saei Park in Tehran, where he cared for a diverse range of wildlife, including rabbits, rams, geese, swans, ducks, squirrels, parrots, and peacocks. His compassion and expertise quickly gained recognition, leading him to offer free veterinary services in the adjacent park every Friday. These free clinics drew long lines of grateful pet owners eager to have their beloved animals treated with care and professionalism.
After moving to Canada, Dr. Hojjati continued his dedication to veterinary medicine, working in various clinics across the Greater Toronto Area for over 14 years. He became a trusted and beloved veterinarian at Birchmount Veterinary Clinic, now VCA Canada Birchmount Animal Clinic. Recognized for his surgical skills and diagnostic expertise, Dr. Hojjati specializes in surgeries and ultrasounds and continues to expand his knowledge as veterinary technology advances.
Dr. Hojjati built York Veterinary Hospital from the ground up, designing a state-of-the-art facility that prioritizes both medical excellence and patient comfort. From sound-dampening walls for privacy to video documentation of procedures for thorough patient records, every detail of the hospital was designed with the highest standards in mind.
His contributions to veterinary medicine extend beyond the clinic. Dr. Hojjati has published studies, including research on electrocardiograms, and remains engaged in ongoing advancements in the field. In recognition of his commitment to veterinary excellence, he was awarded the 2020 North American Veterinary Conference Institute (NAVCI) Scholarship.
