Dental Care
Your pet’s dental hygiene is as important as yours. In fact, dental care is a critical component of maintaining your pet’s overall health and well-being. Teeth can rot and decay without proper care and gums can become inflamed and infected. The bacteria from rotting teeth travels into the bloodstream and can cause other serious health issues. And, as you likely know, bad teeth cause bad breath and, more importantly, terrible debilitating pain. Periodic dental exams maintain proper oral hygiene and prevent or minimize future issues.
We provide comprehensive dental care including:
Dental care enables your pet to enjoy their food and treats, and helps to maintain their overall health. Dental issues, including periodontal disease, are the most common health issue for pets. The accumulation of plaque which hardens into tartar will lead to an inflammation of the gums knows as gingivitis. Gingivitis will lead to periodontitis if it is not treated properly and periodontitis can result in tooth loss and heart, liver and kidney issues.
Dental work requires anaesthesia – we know, this can be scary. We always prioritize the well-being of your precious pet. We run a routine blood test to ensure that your pet is healthy enough to undergo anaesthesia. Our dental x-rays are state-of-the-art and reduce the time required for your pet to be anaesthetized. Our anaesthesia protocols ensure safe and effective sedation including state-of-the-art monitoring, isolated environments to prevent infection, and the highest level of professional experience.
Brushing your pet’s teeth several times a week will help to prevent tartar and plaque build-up. We would be happy to show you the best tools and methods to manage this task. If your pet absolutely will not tolerate the brushing, we can suggest some alternate products to keep your pet’s mouth healthy between cleanings such as dental chew treats and toys and alternate diets or supplements.
We provide comprehensive diagnostic and treatment of a wide range of dental diseases such as gingivitis, periodontal disease, and stomatitis. We create and help you manage custom treatment plans for the specific needs of your pet and support you throughout to deal with the issue and prevent further issues.
For all your pet’s needs, we provide individualized care for their specific requirements.
