Our offerings for your pets
We provide quality care throughout the life of your pet. We prioritize well-being with proactive wellness and tailored preventative care for health, happiness, and longevity. Wellness care includes regular checkups, annual vaccinations, annual flea and tick prevention medications, and dental hygiene.
Our onsite bloodwork and urinalysis avoid the delay of waiting for external lab results. We reduce the worry time for you!
Types of wellness care:
Regular check-ups
Routine exams, ideally once a year, are vital for your pet’s health. They enable us to assess your pet’s overall health, address any concerns, and update vaccinations.
Life stages
As your pet ages, their health needs evolve. We work with you to create and modify preventative care plans to address the specific requirements of each life stage – from playful puppy or kitten to senior companion.
Life changes
Changes in your pet’s life such as moving to a new home or exposure to new pets or environments may require changes to their preventative care plan. We keep the conversation going with you to ensure your pet’s healthcare remains tailored to their current circumstances.
Detection and treatment of dental issues can prevent other issues such as kidney, liver and heart muscle changes.
When a wellness check reveals dental issues, we have onsite imaging and dental services – all designed to minimize the stress on your precious pet.
Our state-of-the-art dental imaging reduces the time that your pet is anesthetized which reduces strain and complications.
Did you know that dental issues can have indicators such as:
Imaging saves lives, eliminates guesswork and reduces stress on your pet.
York Veterinary Hospital has onsite radiology and ultrasound as diagnostic tools to aid us in providing care for your pet. An ultra sound gives us a 2-dimensional “picture” of your pet’s organs. This is much more accurate than simply palpating the body.
X-ray is a great diagnostic tool used to image soft-tissue structures, the internal organs, and bones. When necessary, both digital radiographs (X-rays) and ultrasound of your pet can be the best evaluation of your pet’s problem Digital X-rays show the size, shape and position of the organs and the ultrasound allows us to see the internal structure of the organs. Ultrasound is non-invasive and well-tolerated by most pets.
We only recommend x-rays when necessary.
If we have a concern during an exam, our in-house laboratory can provide valuable information about your pet’s condition. Having this equipment in-house reduces the stress of waiting for you and your pet.
If your pet requires more urgent care and surgery is needed, Dr. Peiman specializes in orthopaedic and complicated soft tissue surgery.
Our surgery is a state-of-the-art facility utilizes tools and procedures to minimize time under anesthesia, reduce bleeding, avoid infection and reduce the overall stress on your precious pet.
Our hospital is equipped to manage emergencies and urgent care during our regular business hours.
We offer onsite grooming, including:
Drop-off service is available – you can even combine your medical and grooming appointments during your busy day. We provide grooming for any size dog – and cats too!
